We specialize in video editing for creative outcomes, audio editing/sound design, and motion graphics. We can even do animation work. Anything is this realm is generally in our wheelhouse. Reach out with your needs and we’ll be happy to let you know if we can do it. 2. How do you charge for your services? We operate on monthly plans. Recurring billing. We offer three tiers, Bronze, Silver and Gold, which have a set amount of hours included. This approach motivates us to work efficiently and deliver high-quality videos quickly. You are in control of the process, and the faster we work, the more value you get from your plan. 3. How do I send you my footage? You can simply email us your footage (use GoogleDrive, WeTransfer, or a similar service) and a brief overview of what you want us to do. We'll get started right away. For larger projects, it may be easier to mail a harddrive, but that’s usually just with larger film projects. 4. Do I need professional footage for you to work with? No, you don't need professional footage. You can capture your moments using any device, such as a smartphone or a tablet. We just ask for well-lit footage with decent resolution and workable sound quality. With the Silver and Gold plans, we can provide professional stock footage, if you’re at a loss for content. 5. Can I ask for revisions? Absolutely! We work in time-blocks, meaning you can request as many revisions as you need until you're satisfied with the final product. If you need more time, you can upgrade your plan, or wait until the next billing cycle. 6. Are there long-term contracts or retainer fees? No, our terms are month to month, giving you the flexibility to use our services as and when needed. There are no long-term contracts or retainer fees. If you'd like cancel your recurring billing, just email us and you won't be billed on the next cycle. You can obviously sign up again whenever you like. 7. How do I communicate with you? We prefer communication through email. It's quick, clear, and efficient. You send us your task, your footage, and your directions, and we get going. No drawn-out meetings or back-and-forths. 8. What don't you do? We are not a brand strategy consultant, videography studio, advertising agency, web designer, logo designer, or a PR firm. We focus on what we do best: video editing, audio editing, and motion graphics. 9. How can I book a call with you? Just head over to the 'Plans' section on our website and book a free 15-minute call to discuss your needs. 10. What if I am not satisfied with your services? If for any reason you're not satisfied, there's no stress of being locked into long-term contracts or hefty retainer fees. You have the convenience of choice, and you can use our services as and when needed. 11. Do I have to use your services every month? We hope to work together every month, but we understand that some months might need more work than others. Our simple, flexible plans are designed with your convenience in mind. You can use our services as and when needed. 12. Can you help me shoot my videos? We're not a videography studio, so we don't shoot videos. Our expertise lies in taking your raw footage and turning it into a polished final product. If you’re not sure how to get footage, let us know, we have lots of resources and advice, if you ask. 13. What if I’m not good with computers and I’m not sure how to post my videos, or what “resolution” really means, or how to put this on my website, etc? If you need extra help with some of the technical stuff, we’re here to help. Not everyone is good at everything. (That’s why we’re in business after all.) In this case, we’d recommend opting for the Gold package, since you’ll likely need more time set aside for dedicated help. We’re not here to judge, or condescend, just to deliver amazing results. 14. What if I run out of hours in my plan for the month? Two options: You can simply wait until the next monthly billing period starts to keep going, or you can upgrade to the next tier. Email us and we’ll send you a custom payment link taking into account the appropriate credit. 15. What if I don’t use up all my hours in the month? With our simple to navigate plans, we don’t carry over hours or credit them back at the end of your billing cycle. It’s not just about the hours, it’s about the value, ease, reliability and prioritization that each plan gets. Another way to think about the plans is as a retainer model, or a subscription model. Some months you’ll need more than other months. 16. What if I’d like to include you in a team meeting? Any meetings beyond the initial 15 minute free call, is considered time-worked. If you’d like us to sit in on a team call, consider if that’s the best use of your investment. If so, we’re more than happy to join in virtually and make you look good in front of your team, if we’re available at that specific time. 17. Can I text, or call, or Slack you? In order to stay as effective as possible, we prefer email. We’re fortunate to work in a discipline that has very few emergencies. If it’s an emergency, by all means, call. For regular working communications, email fits best with the workflow we’ve determined helps offer the best value to our clients. Slack and text are pretty disruptive. We require flow to function at a peak state. Flow is crucial to achieving the results you’re paying for. Also, one of this issues with phone calls, is things aren't in writing, which can sometimes lead to miscommunication. And Slack is all like 'ding, ding, ding" all day, which does not lend itself to a productive working day. 18. My videographer said they’d do the editing, included. Why should I hire you? We encourage you to use all the resources you have available. Of course, make full use of your existing investments. Think of Big Block as a great option for “unblocking” your current backlog. Some editors are more reliable and responsive than others. If you’d like more options, a backup resource, we’re a great addition to your extended team. Likewise if you already have an editor on staff. Help take the pressure off, by augmenting your team, enabling excellence and driving more results. 19. I know someone that will do this cheaper. Can you reduce your price for me? These prices cover our labor, equipment, office, expenses and a modest profit. If you’d like us to contribute personal time to your project, reach out to us with a compelling note, and we’ll consider if we have the bandwidth to volunteer some unpaid time. We’re doing this work because we love it, and we love collaborating with great causes. That being said, there’s only so many hours in the month, and we have to keep the bills paid, so please take that into consideration if you’re asking for a favor. 20. My show/band/film/business is just getting started. What if we can’t pay you now, but this is a great opportunity for you to get involved in something special with lots of potential? If you’d like us to volunteer time for special consideration, reach out to us with a compelling note, and we’ll see if we have the bandwidth to contribute to your project. At this time, however, we’re prioritizing paying customers. Not because we’re heartless, but because we’re focussed on growing the business, so that we can continue to offer world-class service. 23.
